Canon A420 Compatible CHDK ?

Hi,
I know that there is no chdk release for this camera, but can i use A430's or A450's chdk releases with this cam ?
Since these are same series models, i thought it may be possible. I just need manual exposure control and raw mode for this camera, video features are not so important for me. Thanks.

There is zero chance of a build for any other model working on the A420 I'm afraid. There is a dump for the A420 (the first step in producing a port) but no work has been done on it for a year.

Can i port it myself with my c++ and c# knowledge ? Or are there electronics based steps in chdk releases ?

Only software. Some assembly language is required, but if you understand the principles, the arm documentation is sufficient for all the ARM specifics.

Looking at the a420 page, it appears that some work has been done. A digic II/vxworks camera should be pretty straightforward, although some of the really old ones have a few oddities.
