what happens if you remove these two lines:

if b=1 then goto "dorecmodeerror"
if b=0 then goto "dosceneerror"

Hi fusionstream, it works!!! But it doesnt stop the recording when I hit the shutter the second time. It gives a "uBASIC:95 Parse err" code.

Well there's definitely something wrong with the mode detection on the S95; but it will probably require someone with the camera to track it down.

Yep. If it comes right down to it all this script is is a glorified "set_backlight(0)".

Without mode detection and support for the ":restore" feature (which restores your backlight when the script stops - i.e. when you hit the shutter), there's little else I can do.
