All this stuff has been examined a long time ago and everything works.

In any way there are a lots of pictures so it should be easy enough to understand.

In short: you will need to convert your video using VirtualDub with fallowing parameters - mjpeg codec (subsampling 4:2:2), 15 fps, resolutions 320x240/160x120/640x480.
Then save as AVI from VirtualDub and use this tool to create THM preview - http://chdk.clan.su/load/0-0-0-2-20

PS: Before editing video in VirtualDub you should install MJPEG codec (http://download.accusoft.com/picvideo/PICVIDEO.EXE), you can find registration data in the archive below with test video.

Here is converted sample movie, try will it play or not.
Codec serial number included as a bonus ;)

PPS: This is PHOTO CAMERA, not a multimedia player ;)

This is AWESOME if it works.

I will try it.

And Yes while it IS a "Photo" camera, it does a very good job at video stuff also. And the playback Is nicer than many Phones or even dedicated "Video" players i have seen.

Plus this camera is one tough dude too.  not too many cameras i know of can operate at -70 below zero F.  And his camera has done both Stills (4 thousand during one mission)  and hours of fantastic video.

Check out this news story from one of our last flights.

Unfortunatly no, only AVI files are supported.
Try to investigate camera generated THM file with exiftool to found out what parameters camera stores in it, and then update as required.
As I can remember at least file number and video file size is stored in the EXIF along with other parameters, so just renaming THM file is not enough.
