This is an excellent port. Thank you! :)

BTW It would be great if A530 could make at least 20fps with 640x480 video recording. Could this be "fixed" somehow? ;)

very interesting!

seems that raw image is about 0.3 megapixel bigger than the jpeg one.
(I was searching for a wider and higher image size when it's only higher...)

I think this can be a limit of the SD card's transfert rate (but honestly, I don't tested it). Have you tried with other SD?

Excellent idea,
I believe that this feature is very useful.
It makes virtually A530 at the top and full functionality.

The limit in the original software 10fps at 640 * 480 is unbearable, this camera is worth a fix for this.

One solution to this problem is long awaited.

What do you think?

Factory settings prevent A530 from recording more than 10fps in VGA resolution (640X480). 30fps would be great. :)

I will investigate about video fps (I never used video mode on my powershot, really!)
I take a note of the subject distance issues.

Barney, it is possible that video fps issue is a mjpeg encoder limit instead a camera limit?

I noticed after chew put chdk, usb link does not work, especially with camerawindow. Lcd remains black and if I put trigger mode turns off the camera, even with sd clean. Well happen to you?
