If someone tested remote Usb 
When I tried  connect  the cable usb to 5v and 3v batt, I have no reaction , if I make something wrong , maybe someone help me ?
Can explain this ,i use a remote script...

Hi!
for debugging, you can enable in the debug menu 'show misc values'.. when you press the remote shot button on usb cable you must see a parameter change from 0x3fff to 0x7fff..
if this not happens, check you cable..

Hi!
for debugging, you can enable in the debug menu 'show misc values'.. when you press the remote shot button on usb cable you must see a parameter change from 0x3fff to 0x7fff..
if this not happens, check you cable..

In debugging mode 'show misc values' after usb cable-connected, it seems change from 0x3fff to 0x7fff (is ok). But in "normal mode" the LCD screen remains black, and if you put mode shooting with usb cable inserted the camera goes off.

This happens even with sdcard without CHDK.

Is a very strange and annoying, it would be a pity not to have the possibility to connect to the PC.

I hope that this problem is resolved as soon as possible.

This paramter change to 0X7fff, but the Camera didn't shot a picture.
I enable remote USB in 'menu/scripting parameter'  and loading a  remote script....but  is not working.

My problem occurs when I plug the camera to your PC to download images or change the settings.
Just connect the usb cable, the screen turns off, and does not open more camerawindow. Is practically impossible to communicate with the PC. The camera does not respond anymore, but removing the usb cable back to the camera function normally.

Seems to work capturing images of winxp.
Why this happens? And why it also happens with sdcard without chdk? You also have these same problems?

first of all, seems that usb remote does not work (value change right but camera don't take pictures)

master883, for your particular problem: this is not really a problem - it's the normal camera behaviour.
when you connect it to the pc, you can't do anything else that download picture to the pc.

I'm sorry but I think that maybe you don't clearly understood what is usb-remote: it's a *modified* usb-cable with a battery and a push-button - when you push it the camera should take a picture.
*no* pc is needed for this feature.

if you are trying to take pictures from a pc program, this *would not* work. this camera simply does not support shooting controlled by pc.

I know the difference between remote and the normal usb connection with the PC.

My problem is that immediately after the chdk made, the normal link to download photos no longer works and the camera stops working just started connecting. Even turning itself off.

In short, no longer functions as before downloading images and connecting to PC, including using empty sd.

Is a problem of beta? I wanted to say this, and I wanted to know if it had happened to others.

I don't have this problem, when I connect camera to PC (chdk disable) in Preview mode ,I will download any image from Sd.

Is any capability to improve a chdk firmware for a530 to a FlexiZone (focus frame)like (a640)

Ok, the windows xp importing photo work correctly, but the canon original software camerawindow not work, and the lcd of camera remain black, not responding, with cable connected and switching in photo mode camera auto-turn off. this is my problem.
