Using sx110is-100b-0.9.8-758 release of CHDK and used the swap partition function.... I have
32meg and 8gig partition... I switched them and now I can't undo it... so I want to know what exactly does the swap partition function does it just switch the active partition on the drive? or what? how can I replicate the "swap partition" option menu in linux?

The easiest solution is probably to put a PS.FI2 (or DISKBOOT.BIN) file on the big partition as well. Then you should be able to start CHDK whether you have swapped the partitions or not (and thus always be able to swap it again).

To execute the swap elsewhere you'll just have to swap the two entries in the partition table. I don't know if there are any tools that do this safely.

Hi people.
I'm using chdk on my sx20 @ 102b firmware and an 8gb sd card.
I've searched and read about using >4gb cards, but I've faced some problem:
My Cam doesn't have the "Update Firmware..." menu item, thus I can't start CHDK manually; so I tried some win application to partition my sd card with no prob, then format and making 1st partition bootable using CardTricks. I could start CHDK this way; but when I swap partition to the second how can I start CHDK again? (Note that my cam doesn't have the "Update Firmware..." menu item.)
Could anyone help me please?

As noted on the SX20 wiki page, "Firm update" does not work on this camera, so you would need to swap partitions outside of CHDK, or use some method of reading the card which does not require swapping (linux/mac/or some hack for win that lets you see both partitions)
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Hello & welcome, a.hajihasani !

I could start CHDK this way; but when I swap partition to the second how can I start CHDK again? (Note that my cam doesn't have the "Update Firmware..." menu item.)
On MS Windows you may use the SDM Installer to swap the partitions
