I have two 8gb memory cards setup with SDM working fine but getting the files from the cards with windows is proving somewhat tricky.

I'm using Windows 7 and when the cards are inserted there is no option in sdminste.exe to switch partitons, it just shows the 2mb partition..

Is there anyway to fix this?

If not I'll give ubuntu a try tomorrow.

I am following these steps every time:

1. Open SDMINSTE.exe
2. Create 2 Partitions 2mb SDM_LEFT, 7600mb SDM_IMAGES
3. Format Partition 1 (2mb)
4. Click Make Bootable - Feedback (Bootable Card !!!)
5. Swap Partitions
6. Format Large Partition (7600mb)
7. Close SDMINSTE.exe
8. Copy CHDK files to the Large Partition
9. Open SDMINSTE.exe
10. Swap Partions, Small Partition is Selected
11. Copy DISKBOOT.BIN to Small Partition
12. Lock Card, Place in Camera

Sounds like you only have one partition.

If that is you Bryce, the PC with the new motherboard has just spectacularly blown the main power fuse when I plugged in on last occasion.
Never had that before.
Data is safe.

I can't get SDMinste to swap partitions...I have the option to click it and re-insert the card but it still doesn't allow the switch...any ideas?

You could try my WICKS app (unless you are using 64-bit Windows and Java). It lets you switch partitions.
