@mikenz

Any idea where TRIG comes from on the Master GoPro ?

Sorry I didn't spot your message earlier.

I'm not sure where TRIG connects to internally.

Okay, the worst thing about the latest firmware is Jim
Finalize USB BITSTREAM Class
Initialize USB BITSTREAM Class
[jim] usb connect =0

[jim] usb connect =0

Is output every second or so making it very hard to use the shell as a shell, and also to read useful events that I want to see.
You can disable it with this ambsh shell command:
Code: [Select]
mesg rtos off

I've uploaded a bunch of files to mediafire (Datasheets, Firmware File, Update Log, Config Dump, Strings Dump and more).

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?dk9d51e15epnh

Comparing firmware_config.txt from different firmware version is interesting.

Many thanks for that.

Only this one does not download http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mo01ibsuah4jw1x

It will be interesting to see if the GoPro shoots precision synchronised still images and movies.

I doubt it.

@pixeldoc2000 and mikenz

When you press the button to take a photo, do you know if pin 15 (TRIGGER)  on the image sensor changes state ?

If not, it must be a software trigger.

If it is a hard trigger, you should be able to use a common master oscillator and trigger  connected to both sensors to give perfect synch.

Any chance someone could look at the hardware of the GoPro 960 see if the 1080 firmware could be modified to allow 1080 recording? or even full 720 @60 fps?

I've heard the 960 has the same hardware, but I dont know how accurate that is. I Have seen it in different devices before, where the only difference is the firmware.

If it is a hard trigger, you should be able to use a common master oscillator and trigger  connected to both sensors to give perfect synch.

I think the slave receives the frame synch and pixel clock from the Master camera.

The slave then alters the frequency of the phase-locked on the sensor to bring its frame synch pulse into synchronisation with the Master.
