All,
I think I just bricked my gopro yesterday.
I tried direct USB but it refuses to connect.

Good afternoon, I apologize in advance for the bad English.

The question is have a few cameras Gopro one who most likely flew into the firmware Hynix HY27US08561A, if the solder with a working camera all works.

How can we flash these chips ?

1 copy of a working dump and fill in the dead.

2 through the JTAG interface

And the question of how this can be done via JTAG as never done it, that is, how to connect how to use the software well, and so on.

I think it will be useful not only to me as the problem of gathering the firmware in these cameras is very urgent.

Very interesting stuff here!

I've been trying to find stuff (and reading a lot) on how to hack the Hero 2 firmware but with no success, IDA pro doesn't show me anything (I tried to open the firmware update provided by goPro) but it seems to get only a lot of "loc_xxxxx" functions(??), there is some data that is readable but nothing special i guess... I guess i just don't have it!

Did anyone had any luck with the Hero 2?

Cheers!

I have $5000 for someone to modify the gopro black to shoot at  2160x2160, a square image, higher than 15fps. 18 would do, 23fps ideal.

You can see my company web site here www.eye-mirror.com

Look forward to chatting with you. U can email me at        tom at eye-mirror.     Com

I will write here if i have started work with somone.

Not gonna happen, the active pixels on the sensor are 2,592(H) x 1,944(V), but it can do this at 15fps max.  No way of overcoming this unless you could overclock it slightly.  Even the shaded pixels is 2700x2004

Hi,

My GOPRO HD Hero 1080 seems to be "bricked" in Tel mode. I am sure this is a firmware issue having had it apart and disconnected the ribbon in the Tel socket. I have tried all the usual re-set techniques with holding shutter, turning on and pressing power 3 times....doesnt work for this one! I saw some reference to using USB Direct to re-flash the firmware. Is this possible for the GoPRO? if so can someone help me on how to do this. I only have the USB cable to do this as I do not have the other connector. Ideas?

IDA does label "unkown" functions like loc_xxxxx as long as we don't have a IDA signature file for ambarella.

I only have the USB cable to do this as I do not have the other connector. Ideas?
Does your computer detect the camera via usb?

This could be very handy. THX!
