Focus with USB remote?

Focus with USB remote?

Without the remote, you hold down the shutter halfway to focus.

Is there a way to build a USB remote so that I can focus before taking a picture? Or is there a script I ccould use to focus?

The scriptless remote control function has already a build-in focus function.
