Another question, has anyone tried the autoboot mode? If it principally works I'll go for repartitioning my sd card and try to install it.

Andrew, autobooting is working with 1.00H, testet on a 4GB SD Card. I'm also going to test it with 2 Partitions on a 8 GB SDHC Class 10, but i need a few days for it...

Focus, please share your findings as soon as possible. ive spent two evenings in a row to try the beta with a 16gb card without success. i had an 8gb card before with an sx100 and later sx10 and i never had problems partitioning/formatting/chdking it. with my new sx30 & 16gb card only failure and frustration...
please if you succeed post also the method you used, with a link to the guide if possible.
thanks,
galocza

(i tried partitioning with paragon and then the linux method. my camera sees the first, small partition instead the large one and creates all the chdk directories on it. the linux method was problematic i couldnt format the partitions, so again paragon. the partitions: 1. primary fat16 4mb, active; 2. primary fat32 ~16gb not active. the first contains diskboot.bin, ps.fi2, vers.req; the second chdk dir, readme.txt, changelog.txt. as ive written starting it up chdk dir and all subdirs are created on the first partition. maybe this will help someone to point out my mistake.)

I have fixed some bugs that caused the camera to crash when booting from a partitioned card.
Also fixed the code to create a partitioned SD card in camera.

Beta 4 is now available from the download page (see links in first post).

Regards,
Phil.

HELLO, I installed CHDK on my beta4 card and it worked ok, but I can not open the RAW save it in any software, I put the card and only selected in the menu to save in RAW format not set anything else where you can be my problem?

thanks for help!

my card is a micro SD with adapter, 2 GB.
software I used to try to open:
DNG4ps2
raw theraphee
gimp with UFRaw
CRW and repair, which is software that tries to repair corrupted crw's

my firmware version 1.00L and downloaded the beta right for him to.
crw appears with the correct size, approximately 20 MB

Hello & welcome, jorge dias !

but I can not open the RAW save it in any software
CHDK RAW files are direct dumps of the sensor data - read more here: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?board=15.0

Imaging software need to be adapted for new CHDK RAW files, this may take some time; often DCRAW is one of the first apps which support new CHDK cameras...

I suggest to enable the CHDK DNG support...

BTW - i don't know whether the DNG support on the SX30 port is fully functional in this early stage of porting...

I tried setting to save the image to dng, and this message appears:

can not load CHDK / badpixel. bin
please run
CHCK / SCRIPTS / TEST / badpixel. moon

I do not know how.

Thanks very much.

please run
CHCK / SCRIPTS / TEST / badpixel. moon
...Like i wrote in the linked post above  ;) :

Ok, then follow me...
- power your cam on, half-press the shutter to go to record mode
- press PRINT, then press FUNC/SET
- select "Load script from file", go 2 steps down to the TEST/ folder, press FUNC/SET
- select "BADPIXEL.LUA", press FUNC/SET
- start the script with the SHUTTER !
- wait until you see "press SET to save....."
- press FUNC/SET to store the badpixel.bin automatically in the right place

- press PRINT to leave the <Alt> mode, press PRINT again to enter <Alt> mode
- press MENU, go to the "RAW parameters", enter it with FUNC/SET
- enable the settings "Save RAW" , "DNG format" and "DNG file extension"
- press PRINT to leave the <Alt> mode again

Now RAW saving in DNG format is enabled, transfer the DNG files with a card reader...
