@robotman:
Did you by any chance switch to record mode after powering on with the PLAY [>] button ?
Don't do this, the "Firm Update" menu item then wouldn't be visible anymore...

I suggest to
- backup your images/videos
- format the card in the camera
- set the camera to Canon default values, capture at least one still image...
- copy the CHDK file PS.FI2 to the root of your SD card, using a card reader
- select P, Tv, Av or M mode on the mode dial, power on with the PLAY [>] button (lens msut be retracted)
- then directly enter the Canon Menu with the MENU button...

I'm stumped. I've tried several different cards and none of them can manually boot. I did create cards with SDMInst and those are auto booting ok now.

I'm having some problems where the camera just turns off when CHDK is active. And one time, the camera made a gear grinding noise which was weird. Other than that, everything seems to be working.

Is it normal for the OSD screen info to blink/refresh all the time. Kinda irritating.

Thanks for your help!

hi again,

it seems that my lua intervalometer script is botched. error message:
A/CHDK/LUALIB/propcase.LUA:18: Unsupported propset 4

i use this one:
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/LUA/Scripts:_Accurate_Intervalometer_with_power-saving_and_pre-focus

im quite sure it worked ok around beta 4/5.
any ideas?

thanks,
g

Galocza,

I've been using this intervalometer (the one at the bottom of the page), and have tested it with beta 9.

great it seems that i forgot to push "post".

thanks for the quick reply Sunflower.
i used ultra intervalometer in the past but for som reason (which i cant remember 8) i chose accurate intervalometer. i guess ill go back to it at least for now...
it appears that only lua scripts have problems ubasic ones are ok.
i found a similar problem in this topic (g11):
http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=4790.0
here it is recommended to download and apply a different propcase.lua.
i thought to try the one in older versions (i know that ai worked with beta4 or possibly beta5) but those arent available anymore.
i guess i still can try beta8...

A/CHDK/LUALIB/propcase.LUA:18: Unsupported propset 4

Sorry about that, I missed one change when I updated from propset 3 to propset 4 (this was needed in preparation for adding the camera to the main autobuild system).

To fix this edit the CHDK/LUALIB/propcase.lua file in your favourite text editor and change it to the code shown below. I will include this fix in the next release.

Code: [Select]
--[[
This module loads a table which maps camera property case names to
their respective numbers. It also takes care to load the correct property
case set for the camera.

Usage:
  proptable=require "propcase"
  Tv=get_prop(proptable.TV)
--]]

if get_propset()==1 then
  return require("gen/propset1")
elseif get_propset()==2 then
  return require("gen/propset2")
elseif get_propset()==3 then
  return require("gen/propset3")
elseif get_propset()==4 then
  return require("gen/propset4")
else
  error('Unsupported propset ' .. get_propset(), 1)
end

Thanks,
Phil.

First of all. I would congratulate these persons that are working hardly to offer a better camera to all of us. I waiting  the final version anxiously.

I dont know if is the correct place to make this question, but somebody knows how to reduce the shot to shot jpg delay time? Can faster memory cards improve a significant better performance?

Thanks a lot!

One of the (growing) list of things I want to look at when I have time. A lot of the delay between shots is while the camera re-focuses and does exposure calculation - setting everything to manual only helps a little as the camera still seems to go through the calculations.

A faster card will only help if you have a very slow one right now and you won't get any better than the built in 1.3 fps.

Phil.
