I have uploaded a test version (Beta 7) to see help isolate the SD card partitioning problem in firmware 1.00E and 1.00L.

If my theory is correct this version should not crash when trying to create a card with two partitions.
With luck it will also create the partitions on the card and the 'swap partitions' option will work as well.

I had problems getting the file system startup code to work properly and it may be that it is still misbehaving on 1.00E and 1.00L. One of the symptoms of this is that the CHDK splash screen takes a few seconds to display when starting in play mode and shows very quickly in record mode. If this code doesn't run then it would explain why the partitioning stuff is failing and crashing the camera.

beta7 also works fine now with firmware 1.00L. chdk boot screen appears instantenously, camera boots from small partition, saves to big one. all seems to be ok.

I am getting the same results as Sunflower. But I have firmware H. Step #4, I select "yes", camera doesn't respond, then shuts down after a min. I tried the binaries for beta 4 and tried beta 6 full build, also tried using parts of beta 6, all same results. It will not create 2 partitions, nor does it erase the card. I am trying it on a 8gb Sandisk UltraII.

Try the Beta 7 version for firmware 1.00H that I just uploaded.
It's possible that the startup timing may be affected by the card speed (I've only used it on fast class 10 cards).

Camera no longer crashes and it wipes out format but when loaded in PC shows full size for formating.

So...closer.

BTW, how do I load just the binaries? I have tried deleting all in the folders.
