hi achim-e,
i have 1.00L with a 16gb card. i tried quite a few methods for partitioning but the simplest (and quickest) way is the one linked in by whim: using sdminst.exe.
the process is quite self-evident but heres a working link to the pdf describing it:

youll need the second section (sd cards greater than 4gb). depending on your os you might not see the same windows as described (when formatting) but it will work.

Can I reuse the cchdk.cfg created with beta 10 with the newer betas as they come out? Or should I always create a new cchdk.cfg with each new beta?

I have 1.00L beta 10 version. I have noticed that if I set the use-remote to ON, I cannot zoom in/out.  Any body have this issue? any solution?

I have 1.00L beta 10 also. If I set "enable remote" under "remote Parameters" My zoom works fine after leaving "Alt" mode.  Zoom doesn't work in "Alt" mode.   (Note: I don't actually have a remote, I just enabled it in the menus for testing)

It doesn't even if I leave the the Alt mode!  Did I change a setting in CHDK somewhere by mistake that caused it not to work when I allow remote?  Any ideas?

Try deleting (or backing up if you want to keep it for later) your cchdk.cfg file and let chdk create a new default one, next time it starts up.  Then just change the remote setting and see what happens.  If that doesn't work, download beta 10 again and do a virgin install of all the files and see what happens.

I should add that I am using beta 10 from http://code.google.com/p/chdk-sx30is/downloads/list, not from the Autobuild site.

Hi all !!

I'm new here and testing the CHDK 0.9.9-1050 / 100E
I have a 16GB SCARD and I can't make the card bootable for the autoboot.
When I click 'set' on 'Make card bootable", nothing happens.
I have write-protected the SDCARD just after made bootable but i doesn't work.

Anyone could help me ?

CHDK can't boot on SDCARD more than 4GB.

I've read this page : http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Bootable_SD_card
and it is working now !


One more question :
I've tried Custom AUTO ISO.
I guess that the parameters of this function are REAL ISO ?
But why the shutter speed when pressing half the shutter button is not the real speed ?
(for example, on screen I can see 1/8 and the real shutting could be 10 seconds !!)
The EXIF also does not reflect the AUTO ISO, but the canon's values on the screen.

I have also noticed that Custom AUTO ISO is not working in AUTO MODE With FLASH.
In P MODE, it works.

I've seen the issue for everride ISO but not for Custom AUto ISO. Probably the same issue ?

About the flash in AUTO MODE and Custom Auto ISO, I've seen anything.

Another thing : could you tell me how to add some items in the User Menu. The manual said "User Menu Ebable : [Edit]" then press +/- key. But where is the +/- key on the SX30 ??
