Hi guys, way in over my head on this site technically but I'm guessing this is but a simple question that someone can help me with.I have a JJC receiver/transmitter remote control unit that I used with my Canon 40d. I've just got a Canon S90 and was wondering if I can use it through CHDK and with either a mod or adapter to the remote receiver side which has an N3 type connector.Any ideas or am I barking up the wrong tree!
Hi, i think i might be able to help you, but i need some clarification.you receiver does exactly what? could you please from the jjc webpage point to me to what exactly do have?what im gettin is, you 40d is controlled using the 3N port and what the receiver can release shutter start autofocus (http://www.camerahacker.com/Canon/Canon%20N3%20Connector%20Pin-Out.php).I dont know if s90 has usb control available but if it does, the usb control functionality can be configured to autofocus with a quick click and to release the shutter with a second click its releases the shutter.so what is needed is a way to tap into de receiver 3N cable and adapt it to make a usb remote. Is that what you need?
