Using a AC adaptor on a Powershots

When I use a AC adaptor on my A590IS and my SX100ISI get 3.6 volts instead on the 2.8 volts I get with fully charged batteries. Is this normal.

The same adaptor is used by all Powershots using two AA batteries.

I have no idea but the camera will be designed to accept that voltage via the DC socket.

There is no reason why it will be the same as the battery voltage.

Also, did you measure the voltage 'on load'  ?

I have a A590IS and I fear about using a cheap AC adaptator 5I mean instaed of buying the real canon one).
Have you experienced using other AC adaptator than the real canon one?

Hello and welcome.

I use two AC adapters with my A620, both set to 6V and set to 3V for the A460.

One is a Fameart ADP80R, the other is a smaller and newer UNiROSS switching mode C0151948-B-3 .
Voltages 3/4.5/5 at 2.5A, 6 at 2.3A, 7.5 at 2A, 9 at 1.7A and 12V at 1.4A.
