I didn't know where else to post this problem. I own the Canon SX20 and have been happily using CHDK. My issue doesnt seem to even involve CHDK, but I wish there was a way it could help. Whenever I take photos, any photos using auto focus, the camera will try its best to focus when I push the button in half way in,
I even see it focus sharply briefly, then just before I fully press the button, the dam thing will slightly unfocus and then take the picture. AARRRGGGG. I will add that the auto focus seems to work without problems on bright sunny days only. If its cloudy or inside, this thing will NOT focus correctly. The flash doesnt help because it merely makes it a bright fuzzy picture. I'm at my wits end.....I thought this fairly expensive camera would be better at focusing.
I tried using manual focus with better results, but the manual focus is dependant on spinning the tiny little wheel that takes forever to adjust and god help you if you try to spin it too fast or press a bit too hard as it then triggers the ISO setting leaving the manual focus in the dust.
Anyone with any ideas on what I might be doing wrong, or a setting I might have screwed up or how I can change the manual focus without using that worthless spin wheel? I suppose there is no way that CHDK could change the default controls for focus right?
