You CHDK developers and your constant progress! I haven't even updated my camera to the new branch yet.  :D

I guess I will have to get around to updating my old blog post on CHDK shutter speed overrides too so it lines up with the controls in the new menu system.

Hi, I have a question on this: It seems to me that bracketing works properly only in auto modes, but not in manual, i.e. it reads initial shutter speed/aperture/ISO settings from what the camera meters and not what I set in manual mode.
Am I correct on this? Is there a way to make it work in manual mode?

I don't like the idea of auto exposure as initial setting (first photo) because I end up with bunch of images without clear beginning and ending. The way I do it is by exposing for the hilights manually and then raising exposured by 1 stop until the shadows look good. That way my image sequence makes sense to me. However, using CHDK I've been unable to achieve that.

There are many ways to use CHDK for exposure bracketing.  Typically, they start with an automatic exposure and work from there but that's not the only way to do it.

Are you using a camera with native Canon manual exposure capability? Or are you trying to use CHDK overrides?. Once I know that I can either point you to a script that does what you want or maybe put a new one together quickly.

It should start from the manual values in Canon manual mode. Which camera do you have?
