Problem processing DNG:Need help

After converting my A720IS raw files to dng (via dng4ps2),I see abrupt highlight transition(halos) when I
open the dng files in photoshop CS2.This makes its look very unrealistic. But the transition is much smoother
in the jpeg's produced by the camera. Am I doing something wrong here?
