the Script above is working with Digic5 on SX40 (but just 1 time).

The script loads the first time.
but then... after the first recording stops, if i press the shutter button to load
the script again, the camera crashes and goes off completely.

This happens with <ALT> enabled or disabled.
i tried changing shooting modes.
tried to go to "Play mode" and going back to shooting mode. still nothing.

once the script is loaded, there's no way to take a picture afterwards, it just crashes.
Checked the SD, but could not find any LOGs. so i don't know what it could be.

any ideas?.

 :)

Hi All,
Would like to test some Video exposure script's posted on the forum, with my SX130IS cam.
I'v made reguired adresse's change in the script's related to SX130IS 101c to suit Native functions.
Made a Diskboot.bin with CHDK_Shell with last Changeset...trunk ver. 1588.
All OK -No Errors, but my diskboot.bin is 216 KB vs 247kb in other Beta Releases on the AutoBuild Server.
When I start Shell, there  was uncheked these OPT's (for SX130IS):

OPT_LUA_CALL_NATIVE=
OPT_EXMEM_MALLOC=
OPT_CHDK_IN_EXMEM=
OPT_EXMEM_TESTING=
OPT_MD_DEBUG=
OPT_FI2=...............( I No need it for now.)
OPT_WARNINGS=

I check only OPT_LUA_CALL_NATIVE.What I have to check (exept OPT_FI2) to get a full Properties like in the last Beta Releases ? ..and my file to grow a little bit... :)
Thanks in advance.
===============================
I read all WARNINGS about using these Native functions registered in CHDK !

but my diskboot.bin is 216 KB vs 247kb in other Beta Releases on Build Server.
It sounds like you are building against the dev (or unstable) source tree.  It uses loadable modules so the main diskboot.bin and ps.fi2 files are much smaller.   The files on the autobuild server are built against the stable branch of the svn tree, which does not offer loadable modules.

For your needs, you might be safer using the stable branch too.  Select release-1_0 from CHDK-Shell's Branches... button (up at the top).

To waterwingz,
I'v made new Diskboot.bin - 240 kb, with release_01 (1561) how you said.
Nice, very nice.Cam boot fine.Script run and I can adjust Tv, Av and ISO.
But cam stay in autoexp I think. When Script start on the LCD - rec vid true.. true, and autoexp. set when start record. Can't switch this.I'v made a short clip - cam working !
I'v got ExpCtrlTool_StartContiAE/ExpCtrlTool_StopContiAE for SX130IS from stubs_entry.S at 1399

Values: Tv - 480 ...631 and I do not dare to go up.
        Av - 352    not changed
       ISO - 128    not changed
Bitrate too slow - 9893 Kbps. Framerate 30 (29,97) 640x480.This I saw with Video editor soft.
Video clip with same duration without script is with 17138 Kbps
Maybe I'm in manual video mode with Tv,Av,ISO set's too low don't know .......???
That's enough to day.
Any help what is real Tv in 1/xxx of sec and real usual Av with above figures  will be appreciated.
Thanks very very much to All doing this possible (to maintain and improve our cam's)
-----------------------------------------------
EDIT - Is it possible Video Editor to read wrong data from the Clip due to CHDK override Cam's settings, and this is not correct written on the Clip ??

About my experiments with the script Video exposure control Tv, Av, Sv

I'v made many short video clips with several values for Tv, Av and Sv - there is clear visual diference
in brightnes and other parameters in the clips.
When clip start in Alt mode you may change the values and watch on the screen what happens, and it realy happens - on SX130IS.
Values Av and Sv were changed till to 4 full steps (1/96). Tv only 1 full step to switch fmom 1/30 to 1/60 (I change script so).And with these settings I have several successfull clips-and several times Cam crashed..
----------------------------------
I think this is not full manual mode with this script. Some time Canon FW take control and override
these settings and cam not crashed, clip was made but in auto exposure mode.
May be Canon FW watch for all these complex combination between (Av,Tv and Sv values) we have set, make total meassuremnt do not like result and override it with auto exposure...or Cam crashed.
I never went close to uper limits.
Auto exposure is not accessible after these settings we set, neither and when script was terninated from you and you want to start in normal wideo mode. You must switch off/on the cam, because settings remain if cam not crashed.Press half shoot button do not help.
Im far away from programming ( can make only little changes if it is clear what I do...)
The possibility  to using such control is exelent.May be some one will continue.
EDIT -Forgot to say. When you start  the script, and shoot button was not half pressed, seems apperture (Iris diafragm) is max open. And if you start to play with settings Tv Av Sv inside even in the limits Cam also some time can crash .Canon FW do to like what happens  if Cam is in standby video mode and some one make changes...

The  German version of CHDK has the necessary native calls enabled.  Detals here : http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=8610.msg90069#msg90069

My IXUS 100IS settings were obtained here,
http://my-trac.assembla.com/chdkde/browser/trunk/platform/ixus100_sd780/sub/100c/stubs_entry_2.S?rev=455

They happen to be
NHSTUB(ExpCtrlTool_StopContiAE, 0xFF830084)  //"StopContiAE"
NHSTUB(ExpCtrlTool_StartContiAE, 0xFF82FF40) //"StartContiAE"

I tried looking there for my A810 settings but no luck. Anyone know where I should be looking?
