hello,
I installed CHDK on a IXUS 95 and it seems to have worked, since I saw the CHDK logo and was able to play sokoban. But I cannot take any photo, the lens is always retracted.
I tried the following steps :
1/ manual CHDK launch : to reach the "firmware update" menu, I need to go in playback mode and wait a couple seconds till the camera goes to power saving mode (lens retracted). I tried many things but there is no way I could the reach "firmware update" menu without doing that. And id it was only for that it would be OK, but now when CHDK is launched the playback button is the shortcut button. To leave the playback mode, I pressed it 2-3 seconds long as it is said in the readme.txt. But the lens is still retracted, and the screen goes black. As if the canon tried to take pictures with the cap on.
2/ auto-loading : I made the card bootable, but then the camera starts in playback mode and I am back to the same problem : when I try to leave the playback mode to take a picture, the screen goes black and the lens stay retracted.
3/ when I don't load CHDK everything is fine and back to normal (but without CHDK of course ...)
The chdk download for IXUS 95 whas labelled BETA, so maybe it is a bug. Maybe it is already known, maybe not. If there is a workaround please let me know.
And if I could be of any help for the test phase, I would enjoy doing it.
