SD1100--how to save to large partition?

apologies in advance if this answer is here somewhere.  i've spent time searching, to no avail.
i've used SDMinst to download CHDK to both a 4GB and 8GB SD card.  when i lock and insert the card in my SD1100, the camera will only save pix to the small partition.    my workaround for the 4GB was to use CardTricks, which only creates one partition.  however, i bought an 8GB class 10 card to speed up DMG saving, and since 4GB is the limit for FAT16, CardTricks won't work.

my workaround for now was to create and format 2 4GB partitions, and then CardTricks only saw a single 4GB partition and it functioned properly.

what's the "right" way to get the camera to save to the large partition that SDM creates?

thanks in advance!

Did you remember to make sure that the first partition is the small one and it only contains DISKBOOT.BIN ?

According to the wiki page (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SD1100) the sd1100 does not support partitioned cards or partition swapping.
CHDK ports:
  sx30is (1.00c, 1.00h, 1.00l, 1.00n & 1.00p)
  g12 (1.00c, 1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  sx130is (1.01d & 1.01f)
  ixus310hs (1.00a & 1.01a)
  sx40hs (1.00d, 1.00g & 1.00i)
  g1x (1.00e, 1.00f & 1.00g)
  g5x (1.00c, 1.01a, 1.01b)
  g7x2 (1.01a, 1.01b, 1.10b)

thanks for the quick reply and the answer!!
i'll stick with my workaround for now--i'll take the 4gb partition and autoboot rather than an 8gb partition and manual boot!  i prefer the class 10 speed of the new card.
