Ehm, i don't have another camera to take picture with now (my 20D is in a friend of mine's hands) but there really wasn't any soldering point either on the back or the front of the mainboard.

What's that bit at 2:37? It isn't connected and it finishes inside the top body piece.
Any clue?
Under the chip there is a "ch1-8622" reading.

Do you know where it could be found?
Inner or outer side of the motherboard?
There isnt any point left where the connections are (HDMI, USB, Video out) but i might have been a bit distracted.
Do you have high res pics of the mobo in 60/7/550D? I want to know what that white plastic stuff is.
Any idea?

That's harder than i tought but i've seen so many people recording audio with an external source and then syncing it to the video in post.
It ensures better results with just a bit more work.
Any progress with ML? If you got any new autoexec just mail me.
I'm guessing the same as you in that post, by the way.

There is a hack for 500D in this forum, where they have soldered an external mic; probably the 500D board is more similar to the 50D one, since these cameras are from the same generation.

I doubt there will be manual controls (since these were added a bit later by Canon in 5D2), but at least there is hope for exposure lock (for unlimited time).
