CHDK installation for G9 on 8GB card--

I loaded CHDK on a large bunch of 4GB cards and copied the cfg file--works great with auto load. I haven't kept up
with chdk since it was ported.  Seems one can now have auto (&manual???) load on a larger card using multiple partitions.
Seems I would  very much need to do this next week as will be in a  wet Canyon and the G9 will be sealed in its
water proof case and changing cards would likely lead to its demise. I need to figure this out in a couple days.
:'( :'(   I see Win has trouble seeing partitions on SD cards and I am running win 7 64 bit.  Any help greatly appreciated.
Mike

Bonjour usher99,

I am running Win 7 64 and A650IS (similar to G9) with a 16GB SD card.

Yes, the double partition is a mess under Win but I use VirtualBox and Ubuntu 10.04-i386 installation.

Ubuntu, after little manipulations, recognize and auto mount both SD partitions. After some others manipulations, I am able to transfer SD contents to Win file system, ready to lightrooming. :)

Just read and learn about VirtualBox and Ubuntu and it's done

Yikes,
Sounds like work.  I do have Virtual machines under Win 7 to run legacy programs but just XP.
I spent an hour searching and it seems CHDK itself will change partitions.  The link to a tutorial didn't work.
I will use your suggestion as a last resort but won't have time to test things before I leave.
I will make due with 4GB in the short term  if I can't figure it out with an easier solution.
Appreciate your commenting.

I don't know if this posting is one of the tutorials that you might have tried, but just in case... http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6173.msg62637#msg62637

The second section in the tutorial is the one you mentioned needing...

Thanks,
The tutorial didn't load at work-must be the firewall but did  workat home. It's a bit convoluted, but much much less with the great  tutorial in hand.  I will try with a 16Gb card.  I have .cfg file all set but must figure out  where to put it.
Wish windoze could  see and manipulate both partitions.
