Simple one shot long exposure script help.

Hi folks,

Glad I have found this excellent forum. What would a basic script look like that would take an exposure of 30 seconds?

Obviously the 30 seconds can be changed in a text editor for longer/shorter values etc. Would the script have to control aperture/focus, or is that left to the camera to sort out. I have a Canon A480.

Many thanks. :D

Depending on what you are trying to do, you could skip writing a script and just define a "shutter speed override" to set the exposure to 30 seconds.

Open the Extra Photo operations menu.

Change Disable overrides to "off"

You could achieve the 30 second exposure by setting the override shutter speed to 30 and the value factor to 1.

I wrote a short blog post on setting up Shutter Speed Overrides here.
