other users can raise or decrease your karma, depending on your overall behaviour in this forum, e.g. you can contribute to chdk or you spam the forum, like you did today. you probably should look up "karma" in wikipedia or something.

A new user needs something like 5 posts before they see the "Karma" keys under the Karma'cator (as I found a post or two ago).
