1m limit in 60fps movie mode on a620

Hi All,

I am new to this, so perhaps I am missing something completely basic.

I have an A620 and I've loaded the latest Allbest CHDK on it and enabled the autoboot feature.

The problem I am having is that in 60fps mode I cannot capture more than 1min of video at a time. There is plenty of space left on the card and the camera tells me that I should be able to capture about 12 min. The camera simply stops capturing and I have to start it again by pressing the shutter button. I tried two different 1G SD cards, Kingston Mini 1Gb with adapter and an older Lexar 80x 1Gb card. Both get the same result.

anyone have any ideas?

Hardware limit imo.the 1 minute limit is mentioned in the manual as well.at 60 frames a second, the cams buffer should be pretty busy.on the other hand, canon maybe crippled down this feature on purpose, and this isnt hardware limit at all.

Well, processor has to deal with 1/2 of pixels it has in VGA 30 fps mode, so I don't believe it's a hardware limit

Actually, the difference between 320x240 and 640x480 is four-fold - ie four times the pixels. While the difference in frame-rate is only two-fold, so the high-fps/low-res videos actually consume less space (and presumably less buffer) than the normal-fps/high-res videos.
