I am using A710IS right now
It will be easily out-focused when I let other people use the camera
So it will be very helpful if A710IS have face detection function just like A720, A650
Then no matter who is holding A710IS, the camera will focus on people's face automatically and have a nice picture.

who would've thought we'd have motion detection. the way we have that, eventually I suppose we could have motion detection especially as I cand see that the firmware of some of the face detection enabled cameras has been dumped.
that is a good feature request obviously it's on our minds as well.

what dumping of new camera have to do with face detection on old ones?

1) it is almost impossible to use parts of binary code from some camera and make it working on different model
2) it does not make sense to make it this way because we will be unable to modify it easily
3) to make it from scratch it will take allot of work to do ( Canon says they used years photo database to make it possible. I'm not sure what does it mean )
