SD780 with USB Remote Cable....not working, but close

Does anyone have this working on their SD780?
I've loaded the script and it appears to be running (shows "Remote Button ____<ALT>" in the lower left corner of he LCD) but I can not trigger the shutter.  If I manually push the shutter I get "INTERRUPTED"; push again and get  "STARTED".

I'm using 3 AAA in series (4.7v) with a USB, red+, white-.

Any suggestions?

Instead of using your switch, connect camera to the PC to get +5V on the USB connector.

Does that work ?

Microfungy - Unfortunately, nothing.  Still doesn't work.  This is the first time I've worked with the UBS remote script.....I'm assuming the "Remote Button ____<ALT>" that shows at the bottom of the screen indicates it's loaded?

Yes.

I don't use CHDK but somewhere in the menus you can enable the remote switch.

Make sure that you have done that.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I did enable the remote switch (the sync remotes are off).
I suspect it something simple...anyone with a SD780 that works via remote?

Give a single long press and release.

In ALT mode, is 'USB' displayed at top left when you press the switch ?

I too have tried to use the remote trigger capabilities but will not trigger. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will try using the IXUS 100 CHDK as suggested above.
