Hello.

I can not do anything to have the "firmware update" option on me sx20 is.

Is that because i have a 32 Gb memory card

See the second ! in http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SX20, the sx20 support does not support manual loading.

As my sdcard is 32 Gb, i have to make a first little partition to use it as bootable ? Is it true

Whan i use paragon partition manager, it can not create several partitions on my sdcard.

What can i do ?

Yes, unfortunately.

This is quite difficult on windows, maybe you can find something useful on the wiki http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Bootable_SD_card

It's a bit of a mess...

I think sdminst is reputed to be the simplest way.

Alternately, you might want to just pick up a 4gb card just for CHDK. Then you can format it fat16 and not have to mess with partitioning.

Yes, when using Windows, sdminst is the simplest way. Here is a recent posting that should help: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6070.msg61609#msg61609

The link to the tutorial is still active - just use the free "regular" download. The second scetion talks about 8G and 16G SD cards, but the procedure is the same for a 32G SD card.

The windows version of sdminst is contained in this zip file -> http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/sdm/file/common_files.zip
Make sure you extract it to a separate directory (because there might be files that conflict with your current CHDK). Then run "sdminste.exe".

Since you are using CHDK, ignore the "auto" section, as well as "Copy SDM to SD Card" in sdminst.

You will want to focus on the "create partition", "format" and "Make bootable disk" buttons. MAKE SURE that the proper SD card/disk drive is selected.

When you're done, copy your CHDK files to BOTH partitions. It's just easier that way.

i just ordered a 4 Gb sdcard for when i will need raw pictures.

I think it will be easier

But until i receive it i will have to use my 32 Gb card so i'll try tonight.
