I have just received for a slightly inflated price on ebay. I found this camera exciting as it offers a 1080p mode and a high bitrate of 38mbps. It also has a fast 24m f2 lens on the wide end.

I would suggest http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Adding_support_for_a_new_camera as the place to start, despite the title, your link is more about getting a dump.
