sx130 CHDK support?

I literally just discovered CHDK firmware 5 mintes ago while google searching to see if my camera could output raw files. I instantly joined this forum to find out if this is something i can use.

it is the canon powershot SX 130is.

i found a page for my model but it says that some users have experienced permanent damage by using CHDK. is this something that comes up with every version?

does anyone have any experience using CHDK with the sx130 that can fill me in?
