In my hands the Ricoh remote pressed half-down does not hold focus (blue square or zoomed) with the SX10-IS with the latest releases of either CHDK or SDM*. This issue was reported 2 years ago in this thread:

*SDM in Stereo mode does show the desired behavior, but not in any of its _FAST modes.

I would appreciate reports of success with the CA-1 /SX10-IS combination since it might be a problem either with my copy of the CA-1 or with my "body English" during button actuation.
