CHDK will not work with G9

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie so please bare with me,
I have a G9 with firmware version 1:00D, I have tried with both 2GB SD card and 4GB SDHD card, but in both cases the CHDK splash screen appears, then the camera freezes, cannot access anything other than the camera menu :( :(

I used CardTricks 1.44 to format the card, then selected make bootable, then installed g9-100d-0.9.9-1160-full, then locked card and placed in camera, turned on, CHDK splash screen appears for a few seconds, then disappears, the lens does not open at any stage. Via menu, i updated the firmware version from 1.0.0.0 to 1.1.0.0 but no change, camera is basically dead, except for the menu.

Can somebody please tell me what I might be doing wrong

Thank you

Robert

Hello & welcome, Robert !

...turned on, CHDK splash screen appears for a few seconds, then disappears, the lens does not open at any stage.
CHDK is loaded & running, switch to record mode with the shutter button, to set up CHDK things enter <Alt> mode with the PRINT button, leave <Alt> mode again with the PRINT button.
To start directly into record mode, hold the power button for ~ 1s

Thank you so much for finding the time to assist, I can enter record mode as you suggested but the print (ALT) button does not respond, tried setting to play mode but still the ALT button does not respond, so at this stage I am unable to enter CHDK set up.
Any further advice please

Robert

Update, issue resolved, it appears that the ALT key needs to be touched only, not pressed,

Update, issue resolved, it appears that the ALT key needs to be touched only, not pressed,
Short press = CHDK function (<Alt> key),
Long press = original Canon function (can be registered from the Canon menu)
