Help on script!

Nice storm over Bucharest this evening.....
I set my sx20 on lightning script with 1/2000, f 2, iso1600, manual mode. Are these OK? I don't know what setting to use with lightning and any help is welcome! Or is the script using its own settings?

You don't really need a short exposure, if it's daylight, then you can use something that would be appropriate for the amount of light. If it's night, you can use longer, and lower ISO. Longer exposure = more strikes in the shot.

Here's a shot I took in daylight, exif info should be correct. I'm not sure why the ISO says N/A but it was probably 80 or 100.

I managed to get one strike only.... Even there were quite a few, the camera only detected this. The setting was: iso1600, 1/1600, f 2, full manual. It is night in Romania and the shot got underexposed. I should've activated raw also but the summer storms are still to come. Excelent script, maybe there is a way to improve the sensibility of the script?
The result:

THX AGAIN!

It looks like fast MD is not implemented on SX20, so you will need quite a bit of luck or multiple strikes.

The one you caught is pretty nice, but would definitely be better at a lower ISO and longer exposure. At night you can use a really long exposure, that's how we used to do it with film, just hold the shutter open and wait ;)

Fast MD??
There is a function (vid_get_viewport_live_fb) that can be implemented so MD uses the most recent live view frame, instead of a random one out of 3. This doesn't appear to be implemented on SX20. Finding the needed values is somewhat tricky...
