The create bad pixel file is in the raw submenu in chdk.

I see it now daddyx. I shouldn't of been so lazy. I'll poke around more and read some CHDK guides.

I have been on the fence about going all in with a T3i for close indoor presentations, product imaging, and time lapse sculpting. But with CHDK intervalometer scripting the only thing the SX230 HS is lacking is external microphone for closer sound. I would enjoy working with the DSLR but after lenses it would be over three times the cost, and my finances are tight. Plus the SX230 HS does 120fps and 240fps for observing animal life in a way the T3i can not do, that is at least as far as I know. I am hoping I can clean up the sound or build some portable sound walls. Or perhaps sinc external sound source although I have never done such things. No doubt I will over complicate things.

The low light performance and white balance is amazing with the 230. Studio product imaging will be so much easier than with my latest camera an  A75. Yet for macro surface texture analysis the A75 almost matched the sx230hs in usability. The people at Canon make amazing cameras.

I have firmware version 1.00c and used chdk version 1.00c beta 3. Set override shutter speed = 30, value factor = 1 and shutter speed enum type = factor. I believe these settings should result in a shutter speed of 30 secs, but I only get 15 secs. In fact, whenever I set shutter speed > 15 with value factor set at 1 and shutter speed enum = factor, I only get 15 secs maximum. I am surprised that you can get up to 322 secs.

Same versions here. I just tried it with speed = 3 factor = 10 and type = factor and it seems to work. Then I tried with speed = 6 and it twice as long... As I am at work I am a bit limited as far as testing goes but I am fairly certain it works.

Have you checked disabled overrides is not enabled?
Before shooting do you see the correct shutter override on the display?

Not a programming expert (otherwise I'd volunteer to help) but I just picked up a 1.0.1b and looking forward to that release! Used CHDK for several years (mainly for RAW and time lapse) We actually bought two cameras (one for me, one for the wife - haven't checked her FW version yet)

Sadly, I'm dead in the water on doing anything with 101b any time in the next month. I have to finish up a bunch of maps and start a new job collecting field data. I'm going to have to buy several of the SX220s because it looks like I can at least use the code in the trunk for the beta if I need to port a new firmware.

I have to get 7 cameras installed doing timelapse in a month, and I don't think I can risk buying SX230s and getting more 101b firmwares.

Just out of curiousity, what color is your 101b camera? Mine's blue. I had some theory that those are selling the slowest so that's why we saw the b come later than the others...

The pink one is 1.01a - so different version. Starting to wonder the potential difficulties the port myself.

FrankAZ,

Taliesin's 101a port is far along. He said he was going to be gone for a few days up a mountain. Planned to squash a shutdown after ISO or greater is taken, will need to search code line by line. I have great confidence in the tenacity of the these folks.

daddyX,

My badpixel reading is 23,562 at ISO 400 due to 101A bug I can not try higher.

My own confusion,
Although I have autostart script turned OFF, the shutter is comepletely tied up in ALT. I can mess about in the menu, load what ever script including default but it just repeats endlessly. Maybe I buggered something up?

bugbait,

To get out of <alt> mode, you need to press the func.set and disp. buttons again...the same way you entered into <alt> mode.

Thank you daddy x.
I get the concept now. Still seems like auto run script is hung? But I can pop into the menu do what ever get out and un ALT.

taliesin's 101A seems close to being a workable build. I tried lots of things but couldn't get a shutter longer than 15 seconds timed. As for over ISO 400 to test intervalometer scripts I used manual, ISO 400, 1/13, and bright lights. A bit blurry and not sculpting type light as shadows are helpful but I got to see the time lapse working.

p.s. if you see my post getting smaller it is because I am a motor mouth and I sometimes go back and trim the fat.
