But since there is no 'print' button on SX230HS, how can you open the CHDK menu???

http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SX230HS

The 'print' button don't open the CHDK menu. You go first into the alternative CHDK mode and then you can open the CHDK menu with the menu key.

The SX230 ALT button is a combination of DISP.+FUNC.SET.

You didn't by any chance switch off the cam after 'Firm update' ?
CHDK is strictly software, and as such will disappear if you do.
Or, in the words of the User Manual
Quote
Does CHDK permanently alter the camera?

No. CHDK is simply software. Just like a computer, when the camera is turned off all the software disappears from memory until it is turned on again and CHDK is loaded again. Also like some software, there is an option to automatically start CHDK when the camera starts.

hth,

wim

Hi! I found another bug (?) i change my camera, and this one have firmware 1.01C, the last one, has 1.01B.. And i use the 1.01B Ver of CHDK, and all works "fine"... but now y change to 1.01C and the battery Icon, always show 0%, but my battery is full charge... i doesn't have this problem with the 1.01B, I don't know which version i have to use.. cause my camera firm is 1.01C but the CHDK "B" version works well.. whats the difference in both vers?

Anyone have the same problem with the battery parameters in the 1.01C version?

Thanks, and sorry for my bad english

P.S: My CHDK actual version with the problem is sx230hs-101c-0.9.9-1470-full_BETA

EDIT!

When I shoot in RAW with the CHDK 1.01B the files have a strange and very big noise, with the 1.01C Ver. the RAW files looks normal, without the noise

EDIT 2!

Sorry the problem it's not of the 1.01C Version, the problem is with all 1470 Versions.. now i try with the sx230hs-101b-0.9.9-1470-full_BETA version, and the problem persist.. so i think the problem is with all 1470 version :S

The battery limits used to calculate the % remaining are user configurable and are saved in the CCHDK.CFG file. Can you please try the following under osd->battery in the CHDK menu
1) Turn on the voltage display and report the value shown.
2) Report the MAX and MIN values in the same menu.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

The number that keeps changing is the voltage of your battery.  It will gradually go down as you discharge the battery.

As for why things changed,  there is a configuration file on your SD card for CHDK called CCHDK.CFG.  It is in the  /CHDK directory.   If it gets corrupted or out of sync with the current software version then strange things can happen.  Try deleting it and restarting your camera.  You might have to make the changes reyalp suggested again.

OK, the number tells us that CHDK is reading the battery voltage correctly, only the display is wrong.

As I said before, the limits are configurable.

What do the Battery MAX Voltage and Battery MIN Voltage say in the build that has problems ?

Ok! I can finally fix the problem with the battery! In the previous version (build 1420) when I enter in OSD Parameters >> Battery... The "Battery MAX Voltage (mV)" is setted in [4057] and the "MIN Voltage" is setted in [3280]... In the newer build of chdk (Now build 1487) this values are setted in 0 (both), and the values change in steps of 25.. so now i put it the "MAX Voltage" [4050] and the "MIN Voltage" [3275] is the nearest numbers.. and the battery icon works... I think it works well.

EDIT!
To change the values to EXACTLY 4057 and 3280, you have to UNMARK the 3rd option "Step Size" and change to 1 on 1, when you finish, you can mark it again :)
