Hi, i have a problem with Raw images ( DNG format ) .
I shoot in 16:9 in manual mode and the jpg is perfect ... only when open the DNG files images are in 4:3 and distorted... similar to option Eyes fish.

Anyone have a solution for this?

Hello and welcome,

a RAW/DNG file is an image of the sensor data and the ratio of the SX230/220 sensor is 4:3. The 16:9 JPG image is cropped. You must also cropped the DNG file for a 16:9 picture. The distortion must also be corrected manually. Read more about Lightroom lens profiles in this or in the SX220 thread.

Hi! I found a bug! sometimes the camera turn off (randomly) when you're recording.  Yesterday i was in a concert, and the camera make randoms shut down when recording.. My batterie charge was at 30%~40% almost... And all you have recorded is lost when that happens :S

P.S: My firm ver. is 1.01B.. And sorry for my bad english

Somewhat glad I'm not the only one reporting this particular bug.  I've had the bug manifest itself on 1.01a.  Problem is, I don't have any foolproof method to reproduce it.

taliesin has suspected it may be an overheating bug that was reported on the German CHDK forums.

First off, help us debug the problem.... while it's still fresh in your mind...
* which CHDK version are you using?
* how long were you recording for? 
* Was the camera on for a long time taking pictures and all?  I tend to get it to happen when I'm using the camera on/off for some time
* Any other conditions, like was it hot or cold weather, etc etc that you could think of that would affect camera operation?

In any case, try to reproduce it..... I haven't figured out howto yet, but if you can, that would go a long way in helping one of the coders here to pinpoint where the bug is.

Ok..
1- The CHDK version is "sx230hs-101b-0.9.9-1339-full_BETA"...
2- I think it's random... but is more probably to occur when i'm recording for more than a minute
3- I just turn on the camera and begin to record.. (I don't remember so well, 'cause it happen in a concert, and i just take photos, record, turn off cam.. then turn on again, record.. turn off, turn on again, photos.. A LOT :P
4- The weather I think it's ok.. between 15~20ºC = 60~68 ºF

I recently bought a new SX230 HS which came with firmware version 1.01c.

Since I couldn't find any information about CHDK on this particular version, I started by dumping the firmware:

I don't know how hard it is to modify CHDK to work with this version (and I'm absolutely new to this), so any help is appreciated.  :)

Okay, so I decided to have a look at the 1.01c firmware today.

There are a lot of binary differences between 1.01b and 1.01c, so I wondered why the stubs_entry.S generated for 1.01c looked so familiar...

Long story short, the 1.01b build seems to run just fine on 1.01c, without any changes (at least for the things I tested). I should have tried this before setting up a complete build environment... ;)
