Hello, I am interested in hacking Canon 1000D, but first I want to have a backup of firmware 1.0.3.

Could anyone pass me a link to download the firmware 1.0.3 or could tell me if you can make a backup camera firmware and how?

Thank you!

PS: Sorry if this is not the place to post this, if so ask the moderators to move it where they see fit

DSLR discussions belong in the DSLR forum http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?board=33.0

I'm not sure what is available for the 1000d, but you should read the development threads very carefully to make sure you understand what you are doing and what the risks are. Even if you can find a way to backup your firmware, that doesn't mean you'll be able to restore it if something goes wrong. It is entirely possible destroy your camera, as several 350D owners appear to have learned the hard way.

According to http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/1000D there is no hacks for this camera. There is also no mention of a 1.0.3 firmware. http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6238.0 and http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=2310.0 have some discussion but it doesn't look like any actual development was done.

Don't forget what the H stands for.

Please check the 1000d development thread here, I have posted my source to blink an led, so now that we can run code on the camera, its just a matter of someone porting something to it.

The current 1000d project can dump the firmware for you as well.
