I'm a complete newbie, and I have a Canon IXUS 80 IS. I saw a post on Lifehacker that says how to "Turn Your Point-and-Shoot into a Super-Camera"
Camera Hacks: Turn Your Point-and-Shoot into a Super-Camera
Is my camera compatible?
Could you guide me through how to do this on my camera? I'm having trouble finding the files needed.
Thanks.
UPDATEI had a look at the pages you guys suggested, thanks. But i'm still having problems.
On this
SD1100IS - CHDK Wiki page, it links to the download link the supposedly works with my camera. I downloaded that, renamed the file that works with my camera firmware version (chdk_sd1100_fw101a_fdf355c) to DISKBOOT.bin. Then I used CardTricks to format my SD card as FAT and made it bootable.
Then I copied the DISKBOOT.bin file over to my SD, locked it, put it in the camera, then turned it on.
But I dont know what to do now. On this page
FAQ - CHDK Wiki it tells me to press the menu button and choose the "firmware update" option. But it isnt there. Its just all the default camera options.
Sorry to be a pain but please help me.
