i was wondering, i use mostly rechargeable batteries for my SX130is what should i set the Battery Max Voltage and Battery Min voltage or are they fine at the defaults?

The only thing they change is the display, so it's entirely up to you.

oh really ok i thought it was how CHDK determined how much battery power is left thanks!

CHDK uses the values for the display of how much battery is left (if you choose % or the battery icon). If that display is inaccurate with the default values, then you can try adjusting the limits to more closely match your batteries.

i use NIMH rechargeable batteries what settings should i set it after reading this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel-metal_hydride_battery

i set the max to 1.45v(1450mv) and min 1.0(1000mv) i was wondering if its what other people use for NIMH batteries

You can change the display to voltage, and check with batteries fresh off of the charger, and again just before the camera shuts down due to low voltage (the canon firmware should start blinking a red battery icon just a little before that)

You may want to set the max slightly lower than "fresh off the charger" level, because that is typically over the nominal "full" voltage and they will drop down to a more reasonable level very quickly.

Note that the voltage is the *total* voltage seen for by the camera, so unless your camera uses 1 AA battery, 1.45 is probably not appropriate!

it uses two AA  i changed the display to voltage, and found that the batterys i used when fully charge are around 2.7-2.8 volts i however havent messed with the min yet.

I was hoping someone already knew the appropriate settings and would post them here but i'll just take a pair fresh off the charger and run them down to to the min.

only other problem is i have alot of rechargable batterys of diffrent brands, and am really hoping the voltage is roughly the same for all, i dont want have to change the settings per brand.

A while ago I wrote a mini-script ("2Batt") to test the number of shots for a set of batteries. The script records/logs the battery highest and lowest levels. thank you though my batteries are all NIMH type the brands are the only diffrence ill use that though to determine if the brands really make a diff thanks to you both for your help
