Accessing viewport overlay?

I'm new so I hope this isn't in the completely wrong place.

I've been looking CHDK for a few days now. I see in motion detection code that the viewport can be accessed to get information on the pixels, leading to the motion detection. I'm wondering if there is any way to access any information that Canon displays on top of the image, i.e. the menus visible, lines/boxes drawn on to the screen, etc.

Thanks for any info.

Hello and welcome.

No, CHDK does not have access to such information.

I am not aware of anyone who has done any probing of that.

It kind of depends on what you mean. You do have access to the overlay itself. Perhaps not what the firmware uses to decide what to draw on that overlay.

This might be of interest to you.
