Strange Canon g11 problem, help!

So a few days ago my g11 was working perfectly. After a day of shooting i took the battery out for a charge. The next time i tried to turn on my camera, everything worked fine until i opened the LCD. For some reason, the camera functions perfectly until i open the LCD. As soon as the LCD is cracked open, the camera shuts down in every mode. Has anyone ever had this problem? I thought maybe it was CHDK related, so I tried to take the memory card out and try again, still the same problem.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
