You updated the chdk.cfg's, but did you do the same for the english.lng's ? Be sure to take the ones from your trunk/lang folder for each new build (learned it by forgetting to do that: when I now put any build on my  SD card I now standard check for 1. CFG 2. LANG and 3. Card Lock :D)

I tried reformatting the card, manually creating the appropriate dirs. there was no chdk\chdk.cfg initially and i did put the current lang file on there (note - i am building from trunk, not downloading). whether or not the chdk.cfg is there doesn't matter - still end up in alt mode by default. not only that, but the default script seems to run immediately as well.

Did you modify the code?

May be if you post the compilation screen some developer can spot the problem.

one more hint: gmake clean sometimes does the trick. sometimes "make fir" doesnt create all files that have updated. try make clean please - before complilation.

OK, OK, ignore anything under tthis line... lang file was at the end of a list longer than i was used to!   :D

My S2IS (firmware e) crashes when I use the override subject distance value. Is this old news or an unknown bug? Everything else is absolutely fantastic  :D
