2. (S2500HD): search further for it (e.g. Ctrl+F -> "menu" [without ""]).

As for decrypting other Fuji firmwares just UNXOR it. After that you should be able to find strings.

Hi there!
I just bought a FinePix F500EXR.

Seems that it has the same hardware (despite of the GPS antenna) than the model F550EXR, but it lacks the possibility to save images in RAW format and some other options like exposure bracketing.

I downloaded the firmware for both models, and decrypted them using an UNXOR function. The key used to encrypt them is the hexadecimal value 255 (Hey! That's 0xFF! Looks like the name of the manufacturer xD)

I will try to execute some srt scripts. Lets see what I can get :)

Hello guys.

I have an s2500hd, some coding (but none with cameras firmware) skills and very much ready to experiment.

Having my camera shoot in RAW would be awesome, more awesome would be the fun making it.

I have a Fujifilm Finepix S3300, and would love to have more control over options while shooting videos. (ie. ISO, Manual Focus, Whitebalance, ect.) Some of these features are available in while taking photos, but there is pretty much no customization while shooting videos. 

I don't know too much about modifying firmware, but I will help anyway I can.

I saw this topic and decided to join :)
I own fujifilm finepix s series camera too and I have been searching for some firmware modifications for quite a while. Fujifilm bridge cameras are good and low price but lack features like manual focus and raw shooting.
I am not coder or anything like that (not 0 but still not enough to script anything).
As I see main problem is that we dont have main 1.0 firmware ?
If so, I have an idea, what if access camera memory manually  ?

Camera have some kind of mini hdd or memory card in it where it stores theese some free mb and firmware itself. So idea is to dismantle the camera itself to get the momory card what is in camera and then try to acces it.
Then we can see by ourselves what is in camera .

Then we will get original firmware .

The problem is that we screw up camera like that.

Good thing, that we may actually use used cameras or even not working ones to get to this hdd or card in camera itself. It will be cheaper too.

Main is that card is not damaged, camera may even be broken.

 I dont know, but maybe this sounds like fiction, but I have not seen any idea like this before.
