Nothing like a little Monty Python.

I wonder if the underlying software of this forum supports a more robust user registration procedure ?

Agreed ... they seem to come faster than the forum will allow me to click "Report to Moderator" these days

This is getting beyond a joke.

Why not give some people the means and authority to instantly ban these idiots ?

So, who is the moderator ?

If I understand it correctly,  these "idiots" are often crack addicts working round the clock in exchange for drugs spamming and hacking anything they can get into.  The drugs give them unlimited energy and they don't sleep.  Banning does no good - they attack once and move on.  They will probably never be back using the same user name.

So only a more rigorous registration procedure is going to do much good.

What a sick World.

So these people have problems or are degenerates, depending on your point-of-view.
I will settle for the latter, but that is another topic.

The things posting are almost certainly bots running on infected PCs, not humans, although it isn't unheard of to have people in low wage countries being paid to fill in captchas for registration.

There are various thing you can do, but I don't know what is available in this forum setup.

Most forums are consistency spam attacked. Spammers usually look for the amount of time the spam stays on the site as an indicator of moderator action. Usually the senior members of those forums have instant permission to delete the posts and ban the posters. I think that the report to moderator should be linked to all the senior members of this site. That way spam will be removed in the shortest possible moment.

Where are the moderators?
Do we need more moderators to help clean up the rubbish getting dumped here - I'm happy to help out if more hands are needed.

If something isn't done soon this place will become unusable.

Phil.

I take back my comment about the spammers using a login once and then not coming back.
