I live in Perth, Western Australia. Accessing the internet has been slow since the Japanese tsunami. I read in the local newspapers that a number of undersea fibre optic cables were damaged during the Japanese tsunami.
There was talk that the data was being re-routed through other fibre optic cables and expect internet slowdown. I am definitely seeing it in my region and accessing the USA servers. I would have though that Europe would have been ok. Maybe the USA servers cannot handle the diverted traffic.
