Is it just me or does this forum seem to be bogging down ?  Recently I've had problems with pages not loading and needing to be refreshed several times before they will load.   This is on a couple of different computers at different locations so I suspect the problem is at the forum end ?

Somebody else posted about this a couple of days ago - searching for it has become too painful though.

Maybe its all the recent spam attacks ?

It comes and goes, and has for many months. Some of it probably is related to spam...

I live in Perth, Western Australia. Accessing the internet has been slow since the Japanese tsunami. I read in the local newspapers that a number of undersea fibre optic cables were damaged during the Japanese tsunami.

There was talk that the data was being re-routed through other fibre optic cables and expect internet slowdown.  I am definitely seeing it in my region and accessing the USA servers. I would have though that Europe would have been ok. Maybe the USA servers cannot handle the diverted traffic.

I have noticed an increased number of spam/spammers posting messages.  Their attempts to get past the captcha software to register might also be causing trouble.

It might have something to do with spam traffic increase these last few weeks.

But please keep this info updated.

This was caused by the spam traffic between 10 and 26 June. These last few days there was a new spam wave (started on the 26th), which was probably causing some access and speed issues.

For new issues please open a new topic.
