Hello,

(also posted this on the Eye-Fi forums)

I've been researching this for a bit now, there seems to be two servers that were written:

1. A python script called EyeFiServer.py (no longer in development)
2. A program (iii) currently in development:

I would like to use motion capture + CHDK (which works fine standalone) with an Eye Fi card which will automatically upload captured pictures to an FTP site (or through/to EyeFiServer.py/iii), I've read there is an issue with 'Endless support' from 2010, where, the Eye-Fi card will fill up or it requires the Camera to be rebooted/power cycled to remove the images on the card until it can start uploading again.

Is this still the case today, e.g. June 15th 2011?

In addition, which Eye-Fi card is best used for this purpose?
An older one, an X2, or?

Can anyone point me to the right direction on any scripts that are currently being used in production or have been tested that can facilitate this purpose?

Hi,

I've managed to get my Eye-Fi talking to EyeFiServer.py without difficulty, It was just a case of following the instructions and copying the auth key from the XML file that the official software installs to your home directory and putting it in the script configuration. I was able to take photos on my camera and it transferred them to the computer running the python server.

As for the endless memory, my card is one of the older 2010 cards that doesn't have this feature. I did however come across the mention of a LUA script that allows you to delete files from the memory card with CHDK, it might be worth looking into.

Where is that script?
I have the newest Eye Fi card and auto-delete only works w/ power cycle etc.

This post seems to have a reference to a delete function using LUA, not looked into it much yet though.
