I think I need to take better care of my cameras, I've now broken 2 canon powershots
I used a too high voltage with my
A480 which must have destroyed something inside. I had my
A495 on the beach and got sand in the lens (must've been from my pocket, its not like I was burying it)!
First thing, the A495 is still responsive, it actually gives me a "lens error" message (which I suppose is better than it just dying) but it made horrible gritty sounds as the lens moved in and out. Would the lens still be fixable if I dismantled the camera and cleared out the lens?
Failing that, seeing as I have 2 very similar cameras, would replacing the A495's lens with the A480's work? Is that at all possible?
